When is the Best Time to Travel?

Anytime. The temperature varies from 25 degrees Celsius at the coldest to 35C at the hottest. There are two monsoon periods with stronger winds and some rainfall. The first is in May and the second is September-October. More tourists visit during the high season from December-April but don't be afraid to travel at any other time of the year. Some people even prefer travelling during the low season because of fewer tourists and even lower prices.

Phuket Gay Pride Festival 2004

The Phuket Gay Pride Festivals is in the middle of the high season, next time 2-5 February 2006. The grand parade is on the first (5Feb 2006) Sunday in February. There are also plenty of gay outdoor activities, such as the Day Gay Cruise, the Island Day Tour and beach volleyball.

Songkran festival

The Songkran Festival is in the middle of April and celebrates the Thai New Year. Be prepared to be soaked at any time of the day or night.
